Life in a dire time

What if
One day we realize
The things that we preach
Of hope and happiness
Of dreams and wonder
Turn upside down
What if
The toddler next to us
Laughs at our shattered pride
And tells us to let them all slide
'Cause this world is not yours
And nothing is your own
What if
That day is today
And the toddler is you
And you're asked to live again
With hopes and dreams
But not the way that you've known

None can be another you

Don’t wait to be won by this world
Make your own world
with that tinkle of your eyes and ardent smile,
Make your own world
with your flickering pride and implacable shine,
For none can be another you.

Be that whiff of the wind in a wistful summer
Be that rustle of water on the quiet mountain
Be the relentless river that marches on to a rowdy ocean
Raise your soul to be unabashed
For none can be another you.

Be the one who brightens the dark,
Be the one who enlivens the dead.
Be the one to cross the fear,
Be the one to break the silence.
For none can be another you.

Be bold, be enchanting
Be brave, be unwavering
Be the one you got to be,
For none can be another you.

For those who walk away in the darkest hour-

Don't smile at me when the sky is clear
I see you look away when it's dark and blur
Don't be my friend only to cheer
Losing you was never my deepest fear
I'd rather fall a hundred times
Than to stand back up with you
If I know for that hundredth time
You were the one who turned me blue
You'll still have my back I promise
The day you face the wall
'Cause I never stood by you
Just to watch you fall...

The sombreness of the night crept in
In my heart, I was limped
The moonlight looked mellow
Yet she glared at me
After the relentless clutters of the mind
died down a spiral path
The age-old emotions felt naive again
The voices inside felt stronger than ever

The path alone was a path forbidden ...

Rites of a Martyr

Why’d you care what they mean to you
Why’d you care if they made it through
Why’d you care if they’re burnt alive
Why’d you care how their children thrive

How’d you see the world of a martyr
How’d you see that his heart’s on fire
How’d you see when his eyes glisten
How’d you see the blood stain

All you see is the war that broke
All you hear are some voices choke
How’d you ever know the loss they bear
How many lives are yet to suffer

A war is a war for two countries
Might be nothing for you and me
For as long as they guard our peace
And get killed as are meant to be.

Unnamed

Let them fall in love with you
Let them touch your life
Let them make you live
and not just survive...
Let love find a way
While you find your own peace
Not all scars fade away
Not all sins are meant to perish

Unnamed

Love crushes again
A scintillating wave of pain
And vanishes forever

Life rolls back
Knocks off the rack
Some more memories to bear

Bits and pieces of strangeness
Kneading a story so full of awe
Intoxicating, as you cannot let go
And stumble once more

On what you once felt raw
So deep and true
Once that made you mad
Pain that turned you blue

While you embrace the now
And smile away the then
Still faking  promises

And yearning to live them.
