Unnamed

Love crushes again
A scintillating wave of pain
And vanishes forever

Life rolls back
Knocks off the rack
Some more memories to bear

Bits and pieces of strangeness
Kneading a story so full of awe
Intoxicating, as you cannot let go
And stumble once more

On what you once felt raw
So deep and true
Once that made you mad
Pain that turned you blue

While you embrace the now
And smile away the then
Still faking  promises

And yearning to live them.

  2. A dream that stayed two seconds

She smiled for two seconds in that YouTube music video
As she looked straight at the camera
As if she was smiling at me
    For two glorious seconds
When everything was beautiful in this world
    Beauty was everywhere
And with it, the scent of a dream so distant
That one had to stop believing it could exist

    I can't believe anymore
Pedalling my red bicycle on the streets of Bhopal
That it can help me reach that place
So I take in the scent for two seconds
Like one last breath of pure air before going under water
And then believe in its distance

I don't want to find out who she is
Maybe that's the best I can do for myself
Maybe going too near will just blind my senses
Or show me the stains of reality
That had stayed hidden from afar
Maybe believing in too distant a dream
    Will bring me more peace
Than trying to build a home in the desert of the real

    Many have built such homes
But I asked none how did it feel inside?
Afraid that they have stopped dreaming, for even two seconds
So I choose to lie under the silent open sky
So that I can see my dreams flying high
Maybe there will be no window inside to let my gaze wander

    Tell me, my friend
Will you ask me to let my dreams loose
In the blind lane of reality
    With no hope of escape?

(Hi Gigi! Was in a pensive mood in office today for some reason. These feelings shared in the poem had remained with me for sometime, especially during this week. So simply decided to use today's mood as an excuse to let them out. And then, purely by chance, I happened to come across your blog and this poem of yours, and saw none had made any comments thus far. Hence decided to give myself a chance to be the first one! To inform you a little, the music video I have referred to belongs to Coke Studio Pakistan. - begun)
